Waning hours of afternoon light fades into evening.
Darkness will soon descend, overshadowing the day.
Air is cold & sharp.
It is quiet. I sit alone, breathing in it's silence.
Not rewinding the daylight hours, not giving away to fast-forwarding to the week ahead.
Or giving away to wayward musings.
Sitting.
Waiting.
In a air of expectancy.
A evening meal will soon be prepared and served.
The stillness broken as we relish time and the gift of the passing day.
Then we will enter into the silence of the night given over to the solitude of another dawn and the gift of Hope.
